When we tell you we didn’t want it to end.. WE DIDNT WANT IT TO END! We came for our anniversary and had the best time! We played mini golf with glow in the dark balls which was pretty cool and fun! We then had steak and wine for dinner. My partners exact words.. “I didn’t think steak could taste like this”. The food was truly amazing! Best steak we’ve ever had. The waiter, a bloke.. short hair and a red top on.. he was excellent and made the experience even better. We will be back
Loved the green and cheerful atmosphere, and satisfied with the prompt service. The food was average. As a starter, we had a rocket, pear and walnut with balsamic dressing salad. It’s fresh and refreshing with a perfect amount of dressing. For mains, there were a pasta and a pizza; both were well presented, but their tastes were let down. Though pasta were cooked to al dente, it was way too salty. The pizza was disappointing as it wasn’t cooked properly and very soggy. Parking could be difficult during weekend.
Had not been here for a couple of years and as good as it was now it is great. Go have a look it is impressive.
The meals are top quality and large enough to satisfy a big eater.
Got there @ 12 noon and they stop serving coffee @ 11:30am however they made it specially for us.....
Thank you
Casual dining only now, no longer a formal restaurant but in reality probably better. Great views over the golf course, open fires in winter. Mini golf nearby if the kids need entertainment. What’s not to like. One of Brisbane’s gems.
Nice food, presentation was gorgeous but for the cost I would have expected side dishes. I had a fish dish and it was lacking some veggies - I would have happily ordered some if it had been advised. Lovely views, and a beautiful setting. The price was good. The waiters were very nice but I'd say the service was a little slow. Overall, I would definitely recommend.
We will never come back to Hundred Acre bar. We have been regulars for two years and it has been slowly declining in service and quality. Our last experience for my 50th celebrations was the last straw. The main issue is the bar staff and in particular the Manager (I think he is the Manager - light coloured beard). Every time he serves the service is below par but on our last occasion was disgraceful. I went to the bar with my friend to order more cocktails (big cocktail drinker here) and as we had dirty plates and glasses at our table outside (there were 10 of us) I asked if he could arrange someone to come and clear the table. I was told 'the service staff will get to it when they get to it'. I mean seriously? You also now have to wait for your cocktail to be made (which can be 10/15 mins if they are busy) as they won't bring them to the table anymore. I also ordered a beer for my Dad and he pointed to the fridges next to the bar and said to grab it myself. Really? I had to ask for a fresh glass and when I went to get water (which of course you have to get yourself) there were no jugs or glasses. The look I got from him when I asked for these! You now are pushed to order your food from the QR code which is difficult as you can't customise an order and they now will not bring food out in intervals i.e. if you wanted to start with entrees you have to order these first and then after a while order your mains. If you order it all together it will come out at the same time. Really bad service from the kitchen. The menu has now changed and the seating but not for the better. There still remains no air-con but just huge industrial fans that circulate the heat. The most disappointing thing is that the location and atmosphere of the bar and club is beautiful. It has been completely let down now with terrible service (with the bar staff the worst), and mediocre food. For an establishment that is based in a lovely area with expensive food and drinks you should be getting the level of service to match. You are treated like you are at a fast food restaurant. They also don't stick to the hours on the website and we have been caught with the kitchen and bar closing early. This really put a downer on what was a special night for me.
We had an amazing afternoon and evening here. First of all we had a drink from the bar then did a round of putt putt (12 holes, lots of fun with the kids) and then we ordered a charcuterie board, cheese platter and some pizzas. They've set up an outdoor area with a giant screen for the Australian Open (complete with totem tennis) bean bags, and pretty lighting. We relaxed while the kids played and all grazed on the food.
You'd imagine that being a golf course in St Lucia that service here would be pretty good but it was exceptional. The wait staff were friendly, helpful, efficient and just a pleasure to interact with. The manager told me about future community events they have planned and it sounded really exciting so we'll definitely be back (probably very soon because the idea of open air tennis on the lawn this fortnight is very appealing).
We’ve been here a few times in the past and have always been impressed, but not this time and hopefully they can save it before they do too much more damage. For starters, coming off a 37 degree day only to have the fans above dining set to winter mode, yep blowing the hot air down! They were all eventually changed to the right mode after a couple of fan savvy sparkys nearby made the staff aware! But the big disappointment of the night was the fact now you have to order all the food and drinks via a QR code at the table, meaning no questions can be asked of the menu and worse, the food just came out at will, all over the shop! We know it’s the way of the future but what a let down from an experience point of view.
